Product Info (FAQ)

Q: What is Pocket Protein?
A:  A liquid protein product made from a proprietary blend of hydrolyzed collagen and whey protein isolate. It is also TSE/BSE safe. It has 0 fat, 0 sugar, 0 carbs and is nut, gluten and lactose free and
never needs refrigeration.

Q: What are the benefits of Pocket Protein?
A:  Because Pocket Protein never needs refrigeration, it is a convenient source of protein on the go, making it easier to stick to a healthy diet.

Q: How much protein do I need?
A: The amount of protein you need varies by your body composition and lifestyle. There is a large body of research that suggests that ingesting protein every 3-4 hours helps the body regulate blood sugar, release fat stores, build lean muscle and stay focused.  We suggest you work with a dietitian, nutritionist or your doctor to create the ideal
nutritional plan for you.

Q:  Pocket Protein includes collagen.
I heard that is an incomplete protein and hard to digest?
A: Our collagen is tryptophan-fortified making it a complete protein.   It is enzymatically hydrolyzed. Enzymatic hydrolysis is non-chemical process that pre-digests the protein giving it a low molecular weight that allows for maximum absorption and bioavailability.

Q:  Why is there 2 different flavors with 2 different amounts of protein? What is the difference?
A: The only difference is the amount of protein and the flavor. If you prefer one flavor over the other, pick your favorite.  We suggest women and teens use the 15 gram and athletes, men and pre/post surgical patients use the 20 gram.   However, your protein intake needs are unique to you and your lifestyle.  We recommend working with a dietitian, nutritionists or your doctor to design the healthiest nutritional plan for you.

Q:  Is it FDA approved? Is it safe?
A:  Pocket Protein is classified as a beverage not a nutritional supplement. As such we are subject to all the same regulations and oversights as beverages such as juice and milk. In addition, Pocket Protein is pasteurized to destroy harmful microorganisms (e.g., bacteria and viruses). Pasteurization is an all natural process, in that it involves only heat, not chemicals or irradiation. Finally, Pocket Protein is manufactured under the strictest conditions and protocols at a facility that is both cGMP and ISO9001 certified and was audited in October 2015 by NSF International for quality assurance and adherence to food safety regulations.

Q: What makes Pocket Protein more of a premium product than other protein products on the market?
A:  Our raw materials are of the highest quality available. Both our raw materials and Pocket Protein are manufactured in compliance with cGMP and ISO9001 standards. As a beverage we are required to adhere to FDA standards for food manufacturing.  Most other protein products are classified as nutritional supplements that are not held to the same high quality control standards.

Q: What is CgMP?
CGMP refers to the Current Good Manufacturing Practice regulations enforced by the FDA. Adherence to the CGMP regulations assures the identity, strength, quality, and purity of Pocket Protein.
